Dubai, UAE, 18 March 2019 – du Football Champions, in partnership with LaLiga, announced today the date, location and schedule for the UAE Finals.
To accommodate the large number of football fans coming to support the finalists, as well as to provide the players with a real-life pitch experience, the du Football Champions’ UAE Finals this year will be held at The Sevens - a world-class stadium in Dubai on Saturday, March 23.
The UAE’s best youth football teams from Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Northern Emirates and Dubai from both public and private schools will face off in this season’s final of du Football Champions, home to the Official UAE Schools Cup, UAE Streets Cup and UAE Girls Challenge.
In a unique aspect of the tournament, du Football Champions is enabling matches between teams that have never faced each other previously, were it not for this competition. One such example is Hatta’s Rashid bin Saeed who is competing against Dubai’s private school Dubai English Speaking School (DESC). The latter has consistently qualified for the finals in each of the categories in which they have registered.
“We are hoping to win the title again as we did two years ago. We know it’s going to be challenging. DESC is a very strong team. But this is the beauty of du Football Champions, which makes it possible for us to compete even against private schools,” said Mohammed Ramadan, Hatta’s Rashid bin Saeed team’s coach.
The UAE football community is invited to enjoy the day with fun activations, refreshments, and of course spectacular youth football between the two best teams in the country in each age group, starting from 12:30pm. The award ceremony is expected to start at 6:30pm.
