du LaLiga HPC Player Awarded Professional Contract with India’s Super League Giants Kerala Blasters FC

Dubai, UAE – May 19, 2019 – du LaLiga High Performance Centre (HPC) announced today that one of its players, Zayed Bin Waleed, has signed a professional contract with India’s Super League giants, Kerala Blasters FC.

Bin Waleed is the latest du LaLiga HPC player to be awarded a professional football contract. With this new announcement, 11 du LaLiga HPC players have now been awarded professional football contracts with regional and local clubs including Shabab al Ahli, Al Nasr, Al Ain and Nejmeh Club in Lebanon.

A star player for the du LaLiga HPC U-18 Team in the UAE, Zayed underwent extensive training over the last two years at the HPC led by LaLiga’s UEFA Pro-certified coaches.  The training that Zayed, alongside the entire squad, receive at du LaLiga HPC is at the same standard as that received by youth players at LaLiga clubs in Spain receive.

Today’s announcement follows last month’s news that two LaLiga HPC players have been awarded trials by LaLiga’s top youth club Levante UD.  Midfielder U16 Barbod Mazloumian and Center Back U16 Jade Sultan conducted trials at Levante UD Club in Valencia in April, reflecting du and LaLiga’s commitment to providing top UAE talent with the experience of being part of a LaLiga club and help them strengthen their professional mindset, a key ingredient for successful football careers. These are all part of the exposure and support provided to du LaLiga HPC players to help them land professional contracts with leading clubs.

The latest trials brought the number of scouted du LaLiga HPC players for LaLiga clubs, regional clubs and national teams to 27 over the last three years since the inception of the program.

du LaLiga High Performance (HPC) was established in 2016 to provide the UAE’s top talents a pathway to professional football careers with a gruelling, year-long training program in the UAE up to 4 times a week, alongside professional football matches against the country’s strongest academies and local clubs like Al Nasr. Players also join LaLiga’s summer Scouting Camp in Spain, where they play competitive matches against LaLiga’s strongest youth clubs and earn a chance for trials with LaLiga clubs.
